When Robby starts his senior year in high school, he meets the new boy, Andy. Although Robby has never been physically attracted to anyone, he instinctively feels comfortable around Andy. As they get to know each other better, Robby realizes Andy is an outsider just like him, and harassment at the hands of the school’s bad boys makes it clear that Andy is a transboy.

When Robby’s eccentric Aunt Ivy finds some of her sentimental treasures missing, the boys put on their sleuthing hats to solve the mystery.

A FINE BROMANCE

Five stars!

Andy is the new kid at school. Beyond the normal stress that being somewhere new would cause any teenager, there’s more: Andy is trans.
Early in the school year, Andy meets Robby. Robby is odd in his own way, and thanks to being an outsider, he and Andy become friends. As they get to know one another, they sense they’re not going to be just pals, but something more.
Robby’s oddness is that despite seeming to be a regular high school guy, he has a secret: he’s not attracted to anyone, male or female. Sex is an abstract concept. He doesn’t know why, but all the flirting and tension you’re supposed to do in high school just doesn’t click.
As the school year progresses, Andy and Robby find themselves navigating all the obstacles of daily high school life for outsiders, with all the required harassment, humiliation and worse. Thanks to that, Andy and Robby form an profound bond, and become each other’s best friend, advocate, and protector.
But there’s also something more intriguing going on: Robby’s eccentric Aunt Ivy has objects from her eclectic historical artifact collection disappearing. The boys set out to find out the solution. The two sleuths solve the mystery, and in the process decide that, however different they are, they are fated to be together.
A Fine Bromance combines the story of two young men negotiating the GLBTQ spectrum with a fun mystery. Christopher Hawthorne Moss creates compelling characters (not just Andy and Robby, but all the supporting cast, including a cat named Mr. Duck) that will make you smile.
The moral of AFB is that no matter how different, odd or how out-of-the-mainstream you are, you still have a place in this world. And that there is someone for you. Highly recommended.

Plans for 2016!

I wrote two novels in 2014, ANGEL EYES and a young adult book coming out from Harmony Ink Press in early 2016.  In 2015 I helped put together an anthology of historical fiction of the gay and lesbian variety called TIME'S RAINBOW which should also be out in early 2016.

Launch Point Press 2016

So what's on tap for 2016?

I will be editing for Harmony Ink press the young adult book, and my first contemporary, A FINE BROMANCE, about two high school boys and their unusual adventures and a mystery to help solve.

WAKE UNTO ME in which Frankie and Johnny from WHERE MY LOVE LIES DREAMING after the armistice in April 1865.  Is it really a good idea for Frankie to go home to New Orleans with the Union in charge?

My next young adult novels hearkens back to the year 985 AD with Ethlered the Unready on the throne of Wessex.  And guess what?  Kevern, our hero, sees dead people.

What can you expect in the future?  James Buchanan and William Rufus King, both U.S.  senators, will do a little ghost hunting and crime solving of their own in early 1800s Washington DC!

Maybe sometime I will break out of my MM romance and adventure mold and write about the six wives of Henry VII and their very observant cat!

And there should be more Frankie and Johnny and Mick and even a short story where Elias, my transgender knight, finds her father up a pole in the Holy Land.

And there will be short stories galore.

ANGEL EYES: "Beautiful use of the English language,"

Angel Eyes by Christopher Hawthorne Moss
Gay Historical Romance
Publisher: Shield-wall Productions (March 26, 2015)
Amazon Kindle: Angel Eyes

Michael Murphy , who will be seen again in Moss’s WHERE MY LOVE LIES DREAMING, tells his own story of his youth, sent to assist Major General Winfield Scott when President James K. Polk declares war on Mexico in 1846. Michael, or “Mick as he is known to his intimates, has a series of romantic adventures along the way, ending almost tragically at the hands of the young scion of a wealthy Mexican family. You know he gets back to New Orleans, but this stirring tale will tell you how he gets there and why he limps.

This story has it all. Beautiful use of the English language, an easy flow of writing, well researched and detailed historical era, and multiple sensual encounters between hot guys. Mick is a man's man, an adventurer, a bit naive at times, even cruel in his honesty, but still a smart, daring, and honorable hero, with a touch of spicy rogue. I hear his voice, and those of the others, in my head, and the story leaps off the pages to life.
